Joe Torre was traded to St. Louis in 1969 in exchange for Orlando Cepeda. He continued as a catcher for his first two seasons with the Cardinals, but became primarily a third baseman in 1971. That was the best year of his career; he won the Batting Championship hitting .363 and led the league with 137 runs batted in, enroute to the National League Most Valuable Player award. This baseball was signed by Joe and inscribed 71 MVP. This item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and matching holograms from Athletic Promotional Events, Inc.
