George Brett made his Major League debut with the Kansas City Royals on August 2, 1973, and spent the next 21 years on the field, making sparkling plays at third base and amassing hit after hit after hit. For his career, Brett hit .305, with 317 home runs, 1,595 RBIs, and 3,154 hits. Among his highlights: batting .390 in 1980, 12 trips to the All-Star Game and a World Series title in 1985. Put that all together and it equals induction into the Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed upon Brett in 1999.
