Certified Authentic Rich "Goose" Gossage set the standard for today's closers. In 22 years with nine Major League teams, Gossage made four postseason appearances, compiled 310 career saves and in 1977 set the record for relief pitchers with a 155 strikeouts that season. In an 11-year period, he made nine All-Star Game appearances and had an ERA of 2.27 or lower in eight of those years. Relief pitcher John Wetteland threw so hard that opponent?s could not catch up to his high and straight fastball. Wetteland pitched for the Dodgers, Expos, Yankees and Rangers during his career, and had the season of a lifetime in 1996, when he saved 43 games for the Yankees, played in the All-Star Game and received World Series MVP honors after earning the save in all four Bombers wins. Once the hand-signed collectible has passed the steps listed above, a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is created for the collectible. The collectible is then sealed and stored within our main office and is not handled until it is delivered to a sports collectible enthusiast. COA FEATURES Steiner Sports provides a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) that is the size of a credit card and made of durable plastic. It carries text that reads, "This certificate is your assurance that the enclosed item of sports memorabilia has been personally signed by the state sports celebrity/celebrities. The authenticity of the signature(s) is unconditionally guaranteed by Steiner Sports Memorabilia, Inc." It also bears the Steiner logo, a facsimile signature of Steiner Sports President Brandon Steiner, and on the reverse includes a hologram specific to the product as well as a description of the item and a corresponding bar code.
