Texas Rangers Autographed Memorabilia and Collectibles

The Texas Rangers have been one of the most successful MLB franchises over the past five years. Since 2009, the Rangers have recorded five-consecutive winning seasons and made two-straight World Series appearances from 2010-2011. The Texas Rangers franchise was established as the Washington Senators in 1961, but after the 1971 season the team moved to Texas and adopted the Rangers nickname. The Rangers have made six postseason appearances, five of them after winning their division and one as a Wild Card team.

Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan joined the Rangers before the 1989 season, which allowed him to set multiple records that are still intact today. During the ’89 season, Ryan went 16-10 while leading the league with 301 strikeouts. During that year, Ryan also became the only pitcher in history to record 5,000 strikeouts after he struck out Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson. In 1990, Ryan threw his sixth no-hitter against the Oakland A’s, and later in the season earned his 300th career win. Ryan once again made history during the 1991 season as he threw his MLB-record seventh no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Texas Rangers honored Ryan’s career and tenure with the team by retiring his No. 34 jersey in 1996.

From 1995 to 2000, the Rangers enjoyed their fair share of success. The franchise won its first division title ever during the 1996 season, giving the team its first playoff appearance since moving to Texas 24 years earlier. This powerful Texas team featured players like Ivan Rodriguez and Juan Gonzalez, who won the AL MVP after a dominant 1996 season. The Rangers experienced one of the best stretches in franchise history during the late ‘90s, but in three playoff appearances only managed to win one game.

During the 2010 season, the Rangers finally broke through in the playoffs and advanced to their first World Series appearance in team history. Texas went 90-72, winning its division before advancing to play the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the playoffs. The Rangers beat the Rays in five games and marked the first playoff series win in the 50-year history of the franchise. Texas then defeated the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series to set up a World Series match-up against the San Francisco Giants. Josh Hamilton was named ALCS MVP after leading the Rangers to their first title berth in team history.

Despite losing to the Giants in the World Series, the Rangers returned for the 2011 season determined to prove that their run was no fluke. The team then successfully defended its division title after winning 96 games. The Rangers rolled through the AL playoffs and earned a second-consecutive trip to the World Series where the St. Louis Cardinals awaited them. Texas was as close to a World Series title as you can possibly get – twice during the series they were just one out away from the first title in team history. The Cardinals eventually won the title in seven games.

The Rangers have proven to be a franchise on the cusp of winning multiple titles. Across the country and the world, fans proudly wear their Rangers gear. After suffering through an epic World Series loss to the Giants, Texas bounced back as a franchise and continued its dedication to winning by making another playoff appearance and that’s why investing in Rangers memorabilia is such an easy decision for fans. Any piece of Rangers memorabilia would be a great addition to a MLB collection.
